PILKINGTON Recs found it tough going on a heavy pitch at Featherstone Lions a week after their Challenge Cup loss to Coventry and were beaten 32-20.

They opened the scoring after five minutes when Jake Hodson intercepted and raced 75 metres but Fev responded to take a 16-4 lead.

Chris Clayton came onto a short pass and smashed his way over to give Recs hope at the break.

Re-energised Pilks were back on level terms after Danny Lynch converted Tom Roughley’s effort three minutes into the second half.

Two tries in five minutes put Fev back in the ascendancy.

Lynch scored a magnificent try in the 72nd minute, chasing a loose ball for 50 metres, but sloppy defence meant Fev sealed the win two minutes from time.
