CLOCK Face Miners came from behind to defeat the visiting Dewsbury Celtic 16-8 in a bitterly cold encounter at Clock Rec.

Celtic were first off the mark when they broke and outpaced the Clock defence to score out wide.

It took until the 30 minute mark for Clock to break through as nice hands from Pete Bekker put Ryan O’Donnell in at the corner.

Clock’s task became significantly tougher when Paul Hunt was sent off on the stroke of half time with the score level at 4-4.

Celtic made use of their extra man early in the second half as they worked an overlap to score out wide.

However, the 12 men of Clock levelled the score again with a second try for O’Donnell.

It took until the 70th minute for Clock to take the lead as good hands put Shaun Costello through a gap to score.

Costello put the icing on the cake when he wrestled his way over from close range for his second try.

It wasn’t a day for kicking with both teams failing to land a single conversion.
