FOR the first time this season Pilkington Recs appeared to have a little composure about them and that helped them to a convincing 32-6 win over Skirlaugh - only their third win of the season.

Early tries from Mark Ashton and Sam Molyneux, goaled by Greg Smith, gave Recs a 12-0 lead in the opening quarter.

Further scores from Jonathan Frodsham and Danny Lynch stretched that lead before Skirlaugh's Matty Harling pegged it back to 22-6 at the break.

Skirlaugh tried to take it to the hosts in the second half until Frodsham's second broke their resolve.

Alex McClurg grabbed another to seal a vital win which sets to team up for a battle against the drop from the Premier Division.

Recs have a tough fixture at Siddal coming up followed by Wigan St Pats and then Kells away and need to win two.

Greg Smith and Jon Frodsham were selected as the men of the match.
