A JOE McSpirit hat-trick fired Clock Face Miners ‘A’ team into the next round of the NWML Shield with 26–14 victory over Langworthy Reds.

Clock Face could consider themselves lucky to trail just 6-10 at half time as Langworthy scored two but, bombed a number of chances.

Clock’s solitary first half try was the first of McSpirit’s hat-trick.

The half time team talk refocussed Clock and they were first to score when Tom Taylor scored under the sticks following a lofty kick by Jack Unsworth.

Minutes later and Clock were in again as Unsworth stepped the full back to score under the sticks.

Langworthy pulled a try back, however Clock were back on the score sheet as McSpirit scored the try of the game when he raced 70m along the touchline to score out wide.

Finally, McSpirit completed his hat-trick with a try 10 minutes from time.
