HAYDOCK returned to winning ways with a 19-6 win against fellow title contenders Thatto Heath.
Haydock opened their account on four minutes when winger Karl Dingsdale crossed for a converted score.
Evergreen ex-Saints winger Chris Smith was next to score when a high bomb was fumbled by the Thatto full back and was first to react to touch down, converted by Dingsdale.
Thatto posted a try from stand off Tom Rigby, goaled by Shaun Quinn to make it 12-6.
But Andrew Bacon took skipper Jordan Gibson’s pass to glide over for a great try, converted by Dingsdale.
Gibson’s drop goal wrapped up the scoring with Karl Dingsdale the man of the match award, with Gary Anderton, Dannie Lee, Adam Brown and Rob Sexton all in contention
