CLOCK Face Miners gained a memorable away win at Waterhead on Saturday when they came back from a 16 – 0 deficit to beat the Oldham outfit 20 – 24.

Waterhead were off the mark early with a try just a minute into the game and posted two further tries to take a 16 – 0 lead on 30 minutes.

However, Clock started to pull their game together and Lewis Geraghty scored just a couple of minutes later, Shaun Costello converting. The fightback was on and Clock were in again with Paul Hunt and again Costello converting.

At the half time break Waterhead led 16 – 12 but, were down to 12 men when Orwell was sent off just before the break.

Waterhead started the second half strongly and extended their lead to 20 – 12 but, Clock were quick to reply with a try and conversion for Costello. A late try by Alex Burke, converted by Costello, clinched the win for Clock.
