Clock Face Miners where back on the road again on Saturday with a trip up to Cumbria to face fellow NCL new boys, Barrow Island.

Barrow were first on the scoresheet with an unconverted try after 7 minutes.

A tense period followed with defences on top until Barrow were in again on 30 minutes. With the try converted, Clock trailed 10 – 0 into the half time break.

Clock didn’t start the second half well and Barrow posted a further 2 converted trys to go into a 22 – 0 lead into the last 25 minutes.

However, 5 minutes later Connor Cutts went over for Clock with Hutton converting with a sense of a comeback possible.

Clock upped their game putting the Barrow defence under sustained pressure.

But, the Barrow defence wouldn’t crack again and the game ended at 22 – 6.

After a tough four weeks on the road Clock Face are back at the ‘Rec’ this Saturday at 2.30pm in what is their first ever home game in the NCL.

Clock play host to Gateshead Storm in what should be a tough and entertaining game with the north east visitors currently sitting below Clock in the NCL Division 3 table.

To mark the occasion there will be a grand reunion of Clock Face Miners past players plus, bouncy castles for the kids.
