THREE St Helens amateur clubs recorded superb victories in rugby league's Challenge Cup first round today.
Reigning North West Champions Haydock produced a shock in Cumbria, defeating Wath Brow Hornets, the National Conference Premier Division side, 4-17.
Thatto Heath, meanwhile, were too strong for Skirlaugh, running out 30-10 victors at Crusader Park.
And Pilkington Recs made it a hat-trick of wins for the town's sides, making light of the trip to Scotland, by defeating Aberdeen Warriors 8-62.
