THATTO Heath Crusaders A progressed to the NWML Premier Division Grand Final on Saturday after a somewhat fiery play off semi final against Heysham Atoms, in which a player from either side was sin binned and a Heysham player and their team manager both saw red.

The visitors took a 6-0 lead after the home side had fluffed an early chance.

The Crusaders response was swift with as Jordan Wakefield plucked out Tom Rigby's cross field kick with hand and found centre Leon Tatlock who touched down beside the posts, Wakefield converted to tie the scores at 6-6.

The visitors retook the lead with a score under the posts, which was converted.

A fine passing move involving Stott, Heaton and Darren Woods then sent Aarron Greaves in at the corner.

On the stroke of half time a kick over the defence was collected by Jordan Wakefield who sent the supporting Tatlock in to score, the conversion was missed, but Heath had a 14-12 lead at the break.

Heath extended their lead six minutes after the restart when Stott's drop off pass sent Tatlock through the Atoms defence and his pass sent Ryan Heaton in to score under the posts, the conversion from Wakefield gave the home side a 20-14 lead.

The Atoms weren't finished as poor tackling allowed them to tie the scores up with 30 minutes to play.

A penalty from Wakefield on 58 minutes edged the Crusaders back in front.

David Hull then burrowed his way over on 58 minutes after a strong run from Thomas Tunstall had attracted the attention of four Atoms defenders, before Heysham were reduced to 12 men.

Heath will face League lead leaders Haydock in the NWML Premier Division Grand Final on Saturday 22 October at the Select Security Stadium Widnes, kick off 1930.
