BLACKBROOK backed up victory over leaders Hunslet Club Parkside with a 26-12 success at Salford City Roosters.
Despite half-time substitute John McAtee creating a try that cut Brook’s lead to 14-12, the visitors took control when he went off to the sin bin five minutes later.
A slick passing movement involving Jordan Welsby and Craig Littler created a try in the corner for Aaron Hewitt.
Scott Davidson’s pin-point pass sent Chris Wynn over and the try of the game followed in the 64th minute.
Aided by some poor tackling attempts from Salford, Blackbrook kept the ball alive from one end of the pitch to the other before Wynn broke clear, and he found Deon Cross to finish off after an outrageous dummy.
The margin of victory would have been greater if Blackbrook had converted more than one of their six tries.
Aaron Hewitt improved the third try of the opening half scored by Joe Bate, while the first two four-pointers were touched down by Littler and Cross.
