THATTO Heath Crusaders A progressed to the final of the North West Men’s League Cup on Saturday with a comprehensive 58-16 win against local rivals Haydock.

Ashton Bears will be their opponents in the final, which will be played on Saturday, September 3, at Victoria Park Stadium – the home of Latchford Albion – in Warrington.

The kick off is yet to be confirmed.

Heath defended their line stoutly for the first 10 minutes of the semi final, but were then first on the scoreboard when Ben Roberts touched down.

Heath took a healthy lead into the break as further tries followed for Darren Woods, Jordan Wakefield and Liam Knowles.

Heath moved into top gear in the second half with a second try from Knowles, two from Leon Tatlock, one apiece from Adam Walsh and Adam Hesketh.

A 60-metre effort was finished off by David Hull too.

Tom Rigby added one conversion, with Jordan Wakefield adding seven.

Man of the Match for Heath went to Liam Quinn, followed closely by Adam Walsh and David Hull.
