THATTO Heath Crusaders stretched their lead at the top of the Kingstone Press National Rugby League Conference Division One with a 28-16 victory over Myton Warriors at Hattons Solicitors Crusader Park on Saturday (June 25).

The home side fell behind early when Nathan Slater gathered his own kick to score, but were soon in control thanks to tries from Thatto Man Of The Match Jordan Wakefield, Danny Wakefield and Dave Sutton.

All were goaled by Shaun Quinn to give Crusaders an 18-4 lead at the break.

Sutton's effort was particularly eye-catching as it followed a great break by Jamie Tracy and culminated in Chris Frodsham's long ball finding its way to Sutton for the score.

Myton started the second half as they had the first, this time Lewis Campion burrowing over with Ash James adding the extras to reduce the arrears to 18-10. Yet when Louis Taylor crossed for Crusaders the gap was again 14 points following Quinn's conversion.

Warriors' Man of the Match fullback Nathan Hill crossed to give his side hope once more before Frodsham's individual effort sealed the win.
