PILKINGTON RECS' players will huddle around a screen at training tonight ahead of the Challenge Cup fourth round draw hoping their exploits on Saturday will earn them a plum tie against Bradford - the team their coach Kurt Haggerty plays for.

Recs defeated semi-professionals London Skolars 13-0 to join four other amateur sides - Kells, Siddal, Lock Lane and Featherstone Lions - in the hat.

And the red, amber and blacks' players could be heard chanting 'We Want Bradford' as they celebrated after the final whistle.

Haggerty, on the other hand, is likely to fancy a tie against another of the amateur sides in the draw that is not seeded as Recs seek to progress to the round of the competition when Super League clubs enter the fray and prize money increases significantly.

John Rees, the veteran Recs player, who played the full 80 minutes at centre in the defeat of Skolars, said: "All the boys are saying they want Bradford - because of Kurt's connection and the fact they are probably the biggest name in the hat.

"But equally we could be drawn with another amateur side, which may mean another cup tie at Ruskin Drive if we're at home.

"If it makes sense, there would also be the option of using Langtree Park as Saints and their chief executive Mike Rush have been fantastic with us.

"It has been a brilliant week for the club, everyone is excited but Kurt is very clear that we need focus and that starts at training tonight."

Adrian Morley and Paul Wellens will be the guests conducting the draw for the fourth round of the 2016 Ladbrokes Challenge Cup on Tuesday March 1.

All 12 Kingstone Press Championship clubs, including newly promoted Swinton Lions, are in the draw.

This year marks 150 years since the club’s formation, and to celebrate, the fourth round draw will take place at the White Lion in Swinton, a place where the team moved their headquarters to in the 1870s and took on the Lions nickname, which is one of the oldest in British sport.
