PILKINGTON RECS kept their promotion push on course with a 32-18 win on the road at Shaw Cross Sharks.

There was little to choose between the two sides in a hard fought encounter which saw the visitors eventually take the spoils and end the Sharks three-game winning run.

Pilks went in at the break 12-6 to the good after scrum-half Danny Lynch improved tries from winger Kyran Knapper and full-back Ryan Hilliard, however, in between those scores home winger Ross Roebuck went over for a Danny Flowers improved score.

Scrum-half Flowers was also on target to convert a Luke Hudson score and late Casey Johnson effort, but the Sharks were really undone by three Pilkington touchdowns in 11 second half minutes.

Mike Garrity, Ian Stanley and Mark Ashton were the men to cross the whitewash, before second-rower Mark Briody sealed it with a 70th minute effort and Lynch completed a four-goal haul.
