WATH Brow Hornets opened their account for the season with a hard-fought 20-12 victory over Thatto Heath Crusaders.
Jamie Devine, Karl Dixon, Scott Pink and Fran King picked up the Hornets tries, with Cole Walker-Taylor and King adding the extras for the home side that led 14-6 at the interval.
Thatto remain at the foot of the table despite Jack Jones improving efforts from Aaron Dancer and Sean Kenny.
