Heath moved up to fifth place in the NCL Premier Division table with this 26-10 victory over Cumbrian side Egremont Rangers to maintain a play-off spot with just two rounds left of the regular season remaining.

Egremont were first on the score board, before Sean Leicester’s nimble footwork saw him escape the clutches of the Egremont defenders to score, Quinn’s goal giving Heath a 6-4 lead.

Egremont replied with a dart over from dummy half by their scrum half, before Heath restored their lead when man of the match Adam Hesketh powered his was over on 32 minutes, Quinn adding the conversion. Louis Taylor won the race to a Frodsham grubber, which was converted by Quinn and Heath to the sheds with an 18-10 lead.

The game remained scoreless until 73 minutes, when a fine passing move saw Taylor dive in at the corner for his second.

Heath capped off a fine victory when goods hands from Quinn and Frodsham produced an overlap for Leicester, who outpaced the covering defence to register his second try of the game and round off another fine individual performance.

Other notable performances for Heath came from Andrew Stott, Dave Hull, Dave Sutton and Sean Leicester.
