AFTER a mixed start to the season Newton hit form with this fine victory over the Division leaders.

Newton controlled the game from the kick off, their forwards dominated in all areas giving the backs time to play. With good use of the rolling subs Newton kept fresh legs in key positions.

All credit to Pendle who never gave up and camped on Newton's line for five phases near the end of the game, but Newton's defence was solid to a man.

Newton's four tries came from, Wayne Taylor, Andy McKenna, Andy Power and Chris Darnbrough.
