Saints netball club provides players with a way back
1:11pm Thursday 9th August 2012 in Sport
WOMEN are making a successful return to netball with Saints.
The club formerly known as Sutton Belles promote ‘Back to Netball’, welcoming players of all levels and abilities to improve their skills.
Most of their players had not been involved since their school days but have given it another go and found that the rules have not changed much over time.
They have a county level coach who delivers netball skills training, and there are opportunities to play in a local league if you feel competitive.
Saints recently won the Liverpool ‘Back to Netball’ Tournament which them a real boost.
The team have been playing in St Helens for five years and are based at Sutton Leisure Centre at Elton Head Rd.
They meet every Wednesday during summer for outdoor sessions from 5.15pm to 6.15pm and move indoors during the winter from 5pm to 6pm.
The first session is free with following sessions costing £3.50.
They encourage all women to take part in the training and fun aspects of netball because it can greatly improve mental and physical wellbeing.
Saints have recently been sponsored by Saints Community Foundation, and Coalfields Regeneration Trust.
All you need to do is turn up with sports trainers, a t-shirt and jogging bottoms and give it a try.
