NEWTON le Willows Angling Association members have been in match action.
Members Sunday Sweepstake, Sankey Canal, Upper Pound (30 pegs), July 29: 1, Harry Newton (Warrington) on peg 54 with tench, skimmers and small carp to pole and pellet for 13lbs 11ozs 0drms; 2, Eddie Cook (Newton le W) on peg 40, with tench, skimmers and small carp to pole and pellet for 11-14-8; 3, Raymond Shorrocks (Farnworth) on peg 44, with tench and skimmers to pole and caster for 9-12-0.
The CADG, Merseyside County Junior Championships, Chester Lakes: Newton and Pilkington AA teamed up, with Laura Hill, Cameron Cook, Bobby Williams, Dominic Brennan, Ryan and Tom Heron taking three first places in their section, two seconds in section and a fourth to take victory and be crowned Merseyside County Junior Champions 2012.
Team results: 1, Newton le Willows/Pilkington AA, 11pts; 2, Team Chester Lakes,15pts; 3rd, Lymm AC 16pts; 4, Netherly Valley 18pts.
Disabled and Over Sixties Weekly Members Match, 29 Pegs, Vulcan reservoir: 1, Harry Newton (Warrington) on peg 6, with carp, tench and skimmers to pole and caster for 12-3-0; 2, Jimmy Byrne (Warrington) on peg 15, with roach and skimmers to pole and caster for 9-2-0; 3, Alan Tickle (Newton Le W) on peg 16, with carp, roach and skimmers on pole and pellet for 7-9-0.
