Thatto Heath move up to fourth as Danny Davies grabs debut try

Thatto Heath 28 Wath Brow Hornets 24
THATTO Heath Crusaders strengthened their climb up the National Conference League Premier Division table on Saturday when they beat Cumbrian’s Wath Brow Hornets.
Crusaders were the first to score when Chris Frodsham collected a loose ball on the half-way line to run in between the sticks and leave Shaun Quinn with easy extras.
Wath Brow were quick to reply but Heath hit back with two more tries from Josh Lynch, who was later named man of the match, and Matty Holding, who sped down the right wing like a steam train.
Hornets were not ready to give up and scored two unconverted tries before the break to narrow the lead to 18-12.
Wath Brow had a strong start to the second half and levelled the scores at 18-18.
Strong running from Danny Davies saw him score on his debut for Crusaders to hand the lead back to Thatto but Wath Brow once again replied and with a conversion took the lead for the first time in the game with 20 minutes to go.
Alex McClurg impressed with some great footwork shortly after though and with Quinn adding the extras Heath had enough to hold out for the last 10 minutes to climb to fourth in the table with a game in hand.
