SAINTS have unveiled a one-off pink shirt that they will wear in a Super League clash to throw their weight behind the fight to beat breast cancer.

They will take to the field against Catalan on Friday, July 15 in the ‘pink-vee’ kit to help raise money for the Burney Breast Unit at St Helens Hospital and promote Breast Cancer Awareness.

As well as a collection taking place at the Engage Super League tie, the players’ match shirts will be auctioned to raise funds.

Replicas of the shirt will be on sale from June 1 (subject to supplier delivery), with pre-orders being taken from Saturday May 7 in store and online at the Saints Superstore.

The replica shirts are being produced in strictly limited quantities, says the club.

Miss Leena Chagla, consultant surgeon and lead clinician at the Burney Breast Unit, said: “I would like to thank St Helens Rugby Football Club and Saints fans for supporting the unit in this way and helping to raise awareness of breast cancer.

“We hope that this will help remind ladies to attend regular breast screening, as early diagnosis can save lives.”

Tony Colquitt, Saints chief executive, added: “We are delighted to support the Burney Breast Unit and raise the profile of breast cancer awareness across our community.

“The pink shirt will be a spectacular sight at the Catalan game and we hope it will inspire people to get into the pink spirit and support this valuable cause.

“We will be encouraging everyone to ‘don the pink’!”

The shirt will be available to pre-order commencing Saturday May 7, with stock scheduled for delivery June 1.

Shirts are available in limited quantities in sizes Adults (Size S-4XL), Ladies (Size 8-18), Kids (Ages 6-14).
