Mike's second victory


The Hay Lock Junior Trophy was fished on the Upper pound of the Sankey St Helens Canal.

Mike Szaloky, (Wigan) took the first prize for second time in this year’s programme, taking Ide, roach, rudd, perch and skimmers up in the water at 14 meters to maggot he weighed in with 10lbs 12ozs-8drms.

Second place went to Cameron Cook, (Warrington) with skimmers, ide and roach on long pole and pellet for 8-12-0.

Third place was Bobby Williams (Warrington) with skimmers, ide and roach, up in the water to long pole and maggot for 8-6-0.

Fourth place went to Amy Marcroft (Newton) with a bream and silver fish at 13 meter on pole and red maggot for 4-12-0.

Next Junior match is on Saturday, July 11, at the Vulcan reservoir, 12 noon draw Vulcan Carpark, Pools £1.

The Edward Jolley Memorial Trophy, Sankey Canal Lower Pound, (43pegs) The fishing was hard, combined with hot weather and fish still breeding, but that didn’t stop Ian Alexander (Newton) winning this match off peg 132, with tench and f1 carp on pole and worm for 9-8-12.

Second place went to Phil Clare (Warrington) on peg 107 with two bream on long pole and pellet for 7-8-0.

Third place went to Mark Jacks (Sutton) on peg 107, with 3tench on pole and worm for 6-15-12.

Fourth place went to father, Ray Jacks (Sutton) off peg 109 with f1 carp and tench on long pole and caster for 4-14-8.

The K&L Open Team Championship, Sankey St Helens Canal Upper Pound.

This week’s winner was Gordon Shorrocks, (Farnworth) (Team Shorrocks Bros Tackle,) on peg 74, with Bream and silver fish on pole and caster for 9-6-0.

Second Place was brother Raymond Shorrocks, (Farnworth) (Team Shorrocks Bros Tackle) on peg 88 with all silver fish on long pole and caster for 4-9-0.

Third place went to Eddie Cook, (Warrington) (Individual) with again all silver fish to pole and caster for 2-11-0.

With only two matches left in this series Shorrocks Bros Tackle are now winning the team event with TRS Lowton is second place followed by K&L Boys but still a very open contest.
