HEATH dominated the territory in the first half but could not mount any serious pressure because of lots of errors in good positions.
Maries eventually managed to make their way upfield and scored the first try after about half an hour through Benson.
Heath’s errors continued early in the second half but Maries offered nothing coming back at them.
Heath began to dominate the field postion again and a Danny Brennan break following good work from Glenn Holland and Andy Stott provide the platform for winger Dave Sutton to barge his way over from dummy half, Shaun Quinn converted.
Penalties from the kick off gave Heath the field possession to score again on their next two posessions.
Firstly a Chris Frodsham kick found Sutton who collect before drawing the full back to send Holland under the sticks for Quinn to add his second success with the boot.
In the next set Frodsham released Brennan, who rounded the full back to score out wide.
There was time for Benson to get a second for the Widnesians following a couple of soft penalties to pull back the score to 16-10 with a couple of minutes left.
However, Heath were not denied the final say as Frodsham broke and sent Kenny Hughes in for another converted effort.
Best for Heath were Frodsham, Holland and Brennan with youngsters Ashley Bridge and Matt Causer impressive from the bench.
Heath host Leigh East on Friday, 3 July, 7.30pm.
