THE Rugby Football League has rubbished speculation on internet forums that Monday's televised live Challenge Cup draw on the BBC News Channel was, in fact, pre-recorded.
On-line conspiracy theorists went into overdrive when it emerged details of the cup draw had been posted correctly on internet chatrooms on the afternoon prior to the cup draw being made in the BBC studios.
An RFL spokesman said suggestions the draw was not made live were "utter rubbish" and that the forum-poster had made a lucky prediction.
And a spokeswoman for BBC Sport added: "I can definitely confirm the draw was made live on set in Television Centre at 6.51pm. There is no question that it could have been recorded anywhere else earlier in the day."
