SAINTS welcome back centre Ryan Morgan and prop Luke Thompson for Friday night’s home game with Wigan. (7.45pm).

Morgan missed the Challenge Cup semi final and the games afterwards after picking up a head knock.

His return allows Tommy Makinson to revert to the wing.

Coach Justin Holbrook said: “Morgan should be fine – he has trained well all week. Luke Thompson comes back in after missing Wakefield through suspension.”

Thompson’s return, and the performance of Jack Ashworth in the last round at Wakefield, will mean that someone will drop out for the Wigan game.

Ashworth has managed to regain the bulk he lost following his appendix operation in July.

However, the news on wing Adam Swift, who hurt his shoulder in the Huddersfield game, is not looking good.

Holbrook explained: “It is worse than we thought.

“He has had some extra scans but it does not look good, showing that there are some tears there.

“He will need surgery but we are seeing if we can save him till the end of the year.

“We will have to see if he responds to rehab in the next week, but if he has surgery it will be him done for the year.”
