SAINTS have qualified for the Super League semi-finals - a week before the regular season has split into the Super 8s.
Hull FC's heavy defeat at Wakefield means that Saints, currently on 40 points, cannot be caught by the teams outside the top with with four, with one regular league game and the seven Super 8s fixtures to come.
It a pleasing contrast to last year when they had to battle until the last day of the Super 8s to secure a place in fourth.
With Saints also 10 points clear of the chasing pack Wigan (30), Warrington and Castleford (29), it means if they win four of their last eight games they will win the Super League.
