TOMORROW is a huge day for football - not just in the World Cup.

St Helens Town welcome TSV Uhlbach 1898 (Stuttgart) to the Arcoframe Stadium on Saturday with a 5.30pm kick off.

Town open their 2018-19 pre-season friendly schedule by hosting the German outfit TSV Uhlbach 1898 (Stuttgart).

The teams will contest the Bert Trautmann Trophy which has previously been presented in two encounters v Manchester City XI: the first to mark the 60th anniversary of Bert’s transfer from St Helens Town to Manchester City back in 2009 and in a commemorative match following the death of our club President Bert in 2013.

The match, sponsored by Unite the Union St Helens branch, will form an integral part of a weekend of events celebrating the twinning arrangement with Stuttgart, and an official delegation from the German city will be attending the match.

TSV Uhlbach 1898 is a Stuttgart sports club with a proud history. Its football section was founded in 1946 and now includes 12 teams across the age groups. The club has 1,200 members and has won an award from the Baden-Würrtemberg Football Association for the quality of its volunteer engagement.

With a 5.30pm kick off the game will be sandwiched between two World Cup Quarter Final ties on the same day, providing a feast of football for fans.

Match day admission prices will be £6.00 Adults, £3.00 Concessions and U16s are offered FREE entry when accompanying a paying adult.
