THATTO Heath defeated Cumbrian visitors Kells 28-6 at Close Street in the National Conference Premier Division.

Bobbie Goulding Jnr led the points haul with a try and four goals, with Heath’s other tries coming from Andy Lea and Adam Prendergast, man of the match Matty Norton and Louis Taylor.

In Division One Pilkington Recs were beaten 54-0 at new league leaders Thornhill Trojans.

In Division Three Clock Face Miners fell to their second home defeat of the season as they went down 18-14 against Oldham outfit, Waterhead Warriors.

In the early exchanges of the game, Clock looked impressive, showing skill in attack and strong in defence. Clock were first to score when Karle Hunt and Luke Leyden combined to put Jamie Lucas in for a try under the sticks.

The heavens opened and Waterhead levelled, to make it 6-6 at half time

The start of the second half was scrappy and Clock were under pressure for much of the early stages. Fortunately for Clock, Waterhead were reduced to 12 men for 10 minutes following a professional foul and Clock took advantage as Hunt put Leyden through a gap for a try. Frustratingly, the error count was increasing for Clock and Waterhead pulled a try back with a close range effort.

Five minutes from time and Waterhead scored a third.

A try on the final whistle to Hunt was too little too late. Jack Highcock kicked a solitary conversion for Clock.
