THERE'S no such thing as a lost cause for Tommy Makinson.
So when Ben Barba dashed down the right on Friday night as the hooter was about to sound, the Saints wing was up in support.
Barba, hemmed in by the touchline, instinctively kicked back in field where Makinson was on to it like a whippet.
The defence was beaten - the biggest enemy was the dead-ball line.
And the dead-ball line won despiter the most determined of Makinson dives.
Bernard Platt captured Makinson's attempt to grab an unlikely score - which nevertheless got the fans out of their seats.
