MARTIN Murray has been handed a tough replacement fight following the cancellation of the Billy Joe Saunders bout.

The St Helens fighter will take on Roberto Garcia for the WBC Silver middleweight title at London's O2 on June 23.

The 35-year-old had been set to fight Saunders for the WBO world middleweight title before the champion withdrew after injuring his hand in training.

It was the second time Murray has been let down by the WBO champion and he will now go toe-to-toe with Mexican Garcia, who is on a 13-fight winning streak which stretches back to 2010.

"I was gutted about Billy Joe Saunders pulling out of our fight for a second time but this is a great replacement," said Murray.

"Roberto Garcia is the champion and he's willing to travel to the UK so we know he is well up for it."
