WITH many races being cancelled due to the snow and cold it’s been a fairly quiet week for St Helens Sutton A.C. runners.

But, the snow did stop, St Helens-Sutton’s Ultra running Queen Collette Flaherty as she took on the snow-covered Yorkshire mountain sides, over the gruelling 32-mile Welcome Ultra marathon on Saturday, with a time of 7:47:28.

Saturday also saw Matt Crehan find the only Parkrun still on, over at Widnes, where he ran a new course record with 15:54, finishing ahead of Liverpool Harrier, Rachel Burns, who also ran a new women’s course record of 17:50.
