SAINTS boss Justin Holbrook admits to not being a big fan of running but he will be tackling the St Helens 10k on Sunday alongside members of the Saints Foundation.

This will be the first experience of the event for Holbrook, who arrived in St Helens last May, but it is one he is relishing, despite being warned about North Road.

He said: “I’m looking forward to taking on the St Helens 10K for the Saints Community Development Foundation.

“They do a lot of good work in the community and this is an opportunity to give something back.

“I obviously also know about Steve Prescott and the charity work his foundation does – that is excellent and for an event like that to be held in St Helens again is something that is good to be a part of.”

He admitted to not doing much training for the event so far, but has set himself the target of getting over the finishing line before his wife.

“I won’t be there to be winning it, but I will be there to take part and add another number to the start.

“I am not a big fan of running myself, but I will enjoy being a part of the big day and will enjoy the finish.

“My wife is running it too, so I will have to try and beat her to have bragging rights in the house.”
