ST HELENS Tri enjoyed a successful outing at the fourth Manchester Cross Country League race of the season.
Myka Heard led the women's team home in just over 45mins, ahead of Claire Murphy and Lynette Houghton, and also secured the inaugural St Helens Tri Club Cross Country Championship with a round to spare.
In the men's race the club had 15 finishers, with Eddie Hirst returning from an excellent 19mins 05secs performance at the Christmas Southwark Parkrun to lead home Michael Forber, who recently completed the Liverbird double marathon in under seven hours, and Adam O'Shea, the club's most improved runner over the winter season.
Jennifer Miller rounded the weekend off in fine style the following morning as she battled the breezy conditions to record 55.46 at the Tatton Park 10k.
