ST HELENS Striders embraced the snow and frost this weekend competing in the third race of the North West Cross Country League, which was held at Arrowe Park on the Wirral.
James Allen was the first Strider to complete the course finishing in seventh place.
Allen was followed by his cousin, Jon-Jo Doherty in 13th place.
The Striders’ male team was completed by Richard Seville, Mark Riley, Ian Chisnall, Ian Wright, Kevin Outten, Daniel Tetlow, Paul Dowdle, Tony Dagnall and Peter Moville.
Kelly Hamilton and Rachael Fairclough ran as a team, tactically out-sprinting competitors from other clubs over the last 400m to finish fifth and seventh female respectively.
The Striders’ female team was completed by Susan Kerfoot, Elaine Parry and Kerry Riley.
Tony Padmore, Katie Taggart, Andrea Hill-Jones and Debs Hill opted for some running festive cheer, competing in the Tatton Yule Yomp 10k.
