IT was another successful weekend of running for St Helens Tri at the Manchester Cross Country League and the Stockport 10 mile road race.
Myka Heard continued to lead the way finishing the ladies race in a time of 33:38.
She was backed up by Lynette Houghton who continues to excel for the club in her debut season, and Helen Broderick who finished as third club counter. In the men’s race Kevin Dunbar put in a remarkable comeback performance to pass Che Heard and Michael Forber for the honour of first club member home, the trio separated at the line by less than 30 seconds.
Diane Taktak was joined by her daughter Sarah for the Stockport 10 Mile Race the following morning and while Diane finished in 1:33:52, Sarah put in the performance of the weekend in her first attempt at a 10 miler as she placed inside the top 700 in a remarkable time of 1:29:05.
