ANDREI Kanchelskis — the man who has the unique distinction of scoring in a Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow derby — will be in St Helens next week to sign copies of his autobiography.
The 36-time capped Russian international, who starred in Manchester United's 1994 double-winning team, will be signing copies at Wardleworths, Westfield Street on Friday, 24 November at 10am.
Ukraine-born Kanchelskis began his playing career with Dynamo Kiev, following a year with Shakhtar Donetsk, Sir Alex Ferguson brought him to Old Trafford.
An 18-month period at Everton was followed by spells at Fiorentina, Rangers and Manchester City, among others.
In his book, Russian Winters: The Story of Andrei Kanchelskis, he tells the story of his departure from Old Trafford, reveals why his agent presented Ferguson with a box containing £40,000 and what it was like to be the nearest player to Cantona on the night he leapt into the crowd at Selhurst Park.
With Russia due to be the centre of the football world when hosting next year’s World Cup, Kanchelskis examines the decline of one of the game’s great powers.
