IT was another successful weekend of running for St. Helens Tri as the club finished on the podium in the Warrington Way 40 mile trail race.

A relay team comprising of Mike Goulbourne, James Rooney, Mark Turner and Paddy Lee set off strongly and were rewarded with second team home.

Lee Stinch took on the full 40 miles solo and placed 35th in the individual race finishing in a time of 7:28:08.

The second round of the Manchester cross country league at Boggart Hole Clough was notable for the emergence of new talents as newcomer Jordan Clarke headed the men's team home in under 40 minutes.

The team's most consistent performer Michael Forber was next over the line and Che Heard followed closely behind, while Myka Heard cemented her position as the club's top points scorer by leading home first-time entrant Lynette Houghton and Diane Taktak in the ladies' race.
