IT was another week to remember for St Helens Striders, following the results of the Merseyside Grand Prix, which hosted 10 races between March and September 2017 starting with the St Helens 10k.

The ladies finished third overall with the men finishing 5th. Wendy Davies (vet 40), Sue Heaps (vet 50) and Scott Robertson (vet 40) came top in their age category whilst Tony Dagnall (vet 60) finished second in his age category.

Warrington was host to the English Half Marathon, 10k and 5k races. Strider attendance was in abundance with lots of personal bests.

Jon-Jo Doherty came 13th overall in the half marathon in a fantastic time of 1:17:34, followed by David Wilson in 1:25:05 and Tony Horsfall in 1:38:02.

Mark and Kerry Riley travelled to Lancaster to take part in the Lancaster Castle 10k, known for its uphill finish through the castle.

Mark came 8th overall in a time of 41:37.

Jackie Dobson and Jon Dobson took part in the Kirkstall Abbey 7 mile trail run in Leeds.

Nicola Howath took part in the epic Ladybower 20 race in Cumbria, racing 20.7 miles on road, track and trail in a very impressive 3 hours and 27 minutes.

A special mention goes to Striders' Peter Fairclough who this weekend represented Great Britain at the ITU World Triathlon Grand Finals.
