A FINAL minute try for Gateshead Storm snatched a 26-22 win from Clock Face Miners in a thrilling game in the north east city.

Clock Face got off to a poor start, conceding two tries in the first 10 minutes of the game.

However, three tries for Karle Hunt, Shaun Costello and Paul Hunt pulled Clock Face right back into the game to level the score at 12-12 at half time.

Frustratingly, Clock missed all 3 conversion attempts.

Neither team could get a stranglehold on the game in the early stages of the second half. However, Clock edged into the lead with two Paul Hunt penalties until Gateshead struck back with two unconverted tries. A Paul Hunt try gave Clock a two-point lead with 15 minutes to go.

Clock defended desperately in the final quarter but, Gateshead broke the Clock hearts with a try under the sticks at the death.
