SAINTS trio Calvin Wellington, Liam Cooper and Jonah Cunningham have joined Sheffield Eagles on loan for the remainder of the 2017 campaign.
All of them, however, remain available for selection in the reserves should they not be picked by the Eagles.
The move is designed to get the youngsters more game time.
One player making a permanent move, however, is Jack Owens who had initially joined on loan but has now been released from his contract.
Coming back to Saints the other way is Jake Spedding.
Centre Wellington made his Super League debut against Huddersfield at the Magic Weekend in 2016, but was substituted and has not featured since.
Second rower Cooper captained the Academy side to the Under 19s Championship last season whilst hooker/loose forward Cunningham has appeared 10 times for the Reserves this year.
Saints CEO Mike Rush said: “The loan deals for Calvin, Liam and Jonah are a vital part of their development.
“They will remain available for our reserves but this will allow them to gain more game time and experience.
“We thank Sheffield for their help in securing these agreements.”
