THE Ironman UK weekend is always a highlight of the year for St Helens Tri and 2017 was no different as Mark Glynn headed a team of nine home in Bolton, finishing 156th in a time of 11:08:38 just under an hour ahead of Patrick Neill.
Other notable results were Che Heard completing the course in just over 14 hours as the club's youngest ever IMUK entrant and Helen Broderick finishing in the top 200 in the ladies race on debut.
Several members opted for the Griffin Grind 5 mile race where Kevin Dunbar placed fifth overall in a time of 31:01 less than half a minute away from making the podium and he was joined in the top 10 by Peter Jones who clocked 32:42.
Bethany Forber also had a day to remember as her time of 45:59 was a new PB.
