IT has been a busy season of marathons for Kevin Dunbar at St Helens Tri but he got a rare opportunity to try a sprint race last Tuesday at the Wavertree Mystery 5k.
And Dunbar went home very happy as his time of 18:35 gave him a new PB.
On Saturday Adele Fisher continued an excellent first season of open water swimming by leading her teammates Stephen and Wendy Webb home at the USwim Salford Quays 1,500m race.
Meanwhile, up in the Lake District, Caroline Stalker’s fine run of form continued as she placed fifth overall in the Borrowdale 5k trail race.
However, the best story of the weekend was reserved for Charlie Stirrup at Ironman Frankfurt as he set an outstanding time of 10:42:46.
Meanwhile, on the same day, Lee Stinch returned from injury to place seventh in the Lions Bridge Trail Marathon clocking 3:44:18.
