THIS week saw a number of impressive performances from Sutton athletes, starting on Tuesday at the iconic Longford Park track at Trafford A.C. final Sprint and Jumps Grand Prix of the season, Michael Causer finished 2nd in the 100m (11:04), while just behind was Daniel Lamb (11.27) and in a specially organised 5000m, Matt Crehan was both pleased and frustrated to run a new PB of 15:01, finishing with a 60 seconds last lap.

Wednesday night saw a Sutton trio take to the roads as Amy Corfield (4th), Rachel Beesley (6th) and Rachel Wilcox (24th) took 2nd team at the Forest Park Ladies 5k. With Amy continuing her PB streak with a great run of 20:14.

Sunday, rounded out the week with a number of fantastic performances as the Sutton A.C. team headed up the M62 to Halifax for the 3rd Northern League match, with the team finishing near the top of the results table (final results had not been published at the time of print). Highlight performances came from Rebecca Brown with two PB’s in the 100m (13.8) and shot put (8.62m), Kelly Hamilton PB’d in both the 800m (2:25.1) and 400m (65.1), while Darren Scott was on form as always as he competed in his medley of events with PB’s in the pole vault (2.60m) and 200m (22.9), while Daniel Lamb continued his form from earlier in the week with a new PB in the long jump (6.71m). The day was rounded off by an impressive looking win by the men’s 4x400m relay team.
