A LATE try by Alex Burke sealed a hard fought 22–30 win for Clock Face Miners away at Elland.

Elland took a ninth minute lead but, Clock took control with tries for Luke Leyden, Scott Thompson, Karle Hunt, Lewis Geraghty and Shaun Costello.

The pick was Karle Hunt’s try, with the ball going through numerous hands in the build-up.

Costello also bagged three conversions. However, two Elland trys, with one on the stroke of half time, gave Elland a lifeline and a half time score of 14–26.

Elland were quick of the mark in the second half scoring pretty much from the kick off. This seemed to kick start the home team as they upped the ante, keeping Clock within their own half for long periods.

That pressure eventually told when Elland scored minutes from time to take the score to within four points.

However, Burke’s late try clinched the match for Clock.
