A FANTASTIC running weekend that always is a main event in the Strider calendar was the Rock n Roll weekend in Liverpool.

Saturday was started off with the 5k in which Rachael Fairclough came third lady in a time of 18:02, Ian Chisnall with a new PB of 18:10 and Kevin Winstanley in 24:12 PB.

Sunday was host to the marathon and half marathon events which saw Striders not only volunteering at the water station but also smashing out some amazing PB times.

The marathon was ran by three Striders Kevs.

Kev Brennan was first over the line in a time of 3:09:00 followed by Kev Outten 3:24:54 and Kev Winstanley with a new PB of 4:54:06.

The half marathon had a great turnout once again and was a successful run all round with 10 Striders gaining PBs.

Scott Robinson in 1:26:46, Ian Wright 1:35:08, Anthony Cheers 1:37:00, Emma Callery 1:39:40, Stuart Tagg 1:40:16, Kev Cairns in 1:41:42, Nic Howarth in 1:53:34, Lisa Glover 2:03:48, Angela Jones in 2:10:47 and Tammy Gallagher 2:31:28 PB.

Across cities was Manchester 10k with Strider Jenny Appleton getting a new PB in 58:10.

David Briscoe also scored a new PB at the half marathon event in 1:32:32.

Further ends of the country saw Rebecca McKenna running up north in the Great Edinburgh half in 2:17:00 and Sue Heaps running down South in the Vitality London 10k in 53:23
