EASTER weekend was no excuse not to race with over 15 Striders racing at the weekend.

One local event offering an Easter egg to all finishers whilst another offered an historical view.

Kev Brennan completed Rivington Pike fell race in an impressive time of 23:09 considering that the race covered over 700ft of accent, he finished well within the 1st quarter of runners in position 74 out of 400. Dating back to the 1880s its one of the oldest and most historic fell races in the country.

Jon Jo Doherty was 13th finisher overall and 1st strider male over the line in 27:53 at our Easter Egg Hale 5 mile on Sunday. He was followed by Peter Fairclough 30:27, Eric Ranson 32:00, Rachael Fairclough who was the first female strider home in 32:20, Danny Fegan 33:26, David Brisco 33:48, David Navis PB 34:13, Peter Medlicott PB 35:22, Emma Callery 35:37, Mark Carroll 40:35, Amanda Coogan 44:36, Colin Leyland 48:11, Vanessa Leyland 48:12, Charlotte Ward 51:01 and Andrew Atkins 57:34.
