SAINTS went down 29-18 in the Good Friday clash at Wigan in a game spoiled by the harsh dismissal of Kyle Amor.
  • The Saints prop was red-carded for a 12th minute high tackle on Liam Marshall - but video replays showed that the first contact was with the ball before bouncing up.
  • Saints had opened the scoring with a Mark Percival penalty.
  • Joe Burgess opened Wigan's account when he got his fingertips to a grubber, and with a penalty the Warriors took an 8-2 lead at the break.
  • A score from Morgan Knowles just after the break levelled matters.
  • A try from Marshall and a Escare put Wigan back in front.
  • But Saints did not give up and debutant Regan Grace was rewarded for a fine display with a well-taken try on the left.
  • Tries from Liam Farrell and Marshall put the Warriors back in the driving seat.
  • And then Joe Burgess caught a cross field kick on the full to dive over in one movement.
  • Still, Saints did not throw in the towel and a patient build up and nice play saw Tommy Makinson back up Zeb Taia for the final try.
  • The players received a magnificent ovation at the end - a tribute to a valiant 12-man effort.
