DARREN Eccles and Elizabeth Phillipson travelled a little further away from the north west this weekend to view some stunning scenery at the annual Coniston 14 mile event. Gary completed the tough hilly and hot course in 2:13:18 followed by Elizabeth Phillipson in 2:50:55
Close to home on a bright Saturday Warrington held their second 5-mile race of their seasonal series.
Proving to be a popular event among the Striders with many making a second return firstly saw Debs Barrett cross the line in 37:23, followed by Nic Howarth and Carol Foster in 43:19, Gemma Webster in 45:11 followed by Nicola Donovan and Gary Eccleston completing the course in 50:56.
A more team-based event took place in Blackpool from the St Helens Striders ladies which saw a comeback for Rachael Fairclough who has recently been out with injury. The ladies team also included Emma Callery, Kelly Hamilton, Wendy Davies, Jenny Martin and Lisa Glover who all took part in the event in Blackpool.
The ladies represented the club and came overall third.
