SAINTS snatched a late 28-24 win in Perpignan, with Jack Owens grabbing the crucial touchdown in a game that looked to have slipped away.

They had started much brighter than of late, moving the ball well in a nip and tuck game.

Adam Swift grabbed the opener after Jon Wilkin, Theo Fages, Tommy Makinson and Mark Percival had combined.

After Saints were penalised for a high tackle from Morgan Knowles Catalans pressed.

And they were rewarded with a try from Thomas Bosc, goaled by ex-Saint Luke Walsh.

Again, good work from Wilkin, Fages and Makinson saw Percival cross to put Saints back in front.

Julian Bousquet's try, converted by ex-Saint Luke Walsh, put the hosts 12-10 in front.

But Ryan Morgan grabbed another for Saints after good hands from Fages, and Swift was unlucky to have one chalked off for a foot in touch.

Makinson's thunderous hit on Thornley stopped a certain score and then the hosts hought they had scored before getting pinged for obstuction.

But Adam Walker forced his way over from close range to put Saints 22-12 up.

Dragons again responded five minutes from half time when Iain Thornley polished off good work from Luke Walsh and Richie Myler for a try.

And within six minutes of the restart they led when Paul Aiton forced his way over.

The second half was a stark contrast to first, with play kept tight.

But with eight minutes remaining Saints scored the match-winner when Morgan offloaded to the supporting Fages as they attacked down the right hand side, with the French half back squirting the offload to send Owens over to score.

Percival slotted the conversion to secure the spoils,
