THATTO Heath forward Mick Ledger has been appointed captain of Lancashire for the third year in succession.
The 33 year old beat off a host of other players to take the leadership of Paul Wingfield's first Lancashire rugby league Open Age squad.
He has a wealth of experience including two BARLA tours and was seen as the logical choice for all the coaching staff. He was one of Thatto's most consistent performers last season as they won promotion from Division One to the National Conference Premier Division.
Ledger will lead the side into this weekend's game against Cumbria.
The game will be played at Askam and kicks off at 2.30pm after the completion of the Under 19 fixture.
